Deadly Blast in South Waziristan Claims Life of Renowned Religious Scholar

A devastating explosion rocked the bustling Rustam Bazaar in Lower South Waziristan, resulting in the tragic loss of Mufti Jana Mir, a prominent religious scholar. The blast, which occurred on the ground floor of a supermarket, left Mufti Mir with critical injuries. Despite being rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. According to DSP Wana Circle Asghar Ali Shah, preliminary findings indicate that the bomb was pre-planted with the intention of targeting Mufti Mir. The incident has sparked a thorough investigation, with police collecting forensic evidence and working to determine the perpetrators and their motives. This attack comes on the heels of a similar incident just three days prior, in which a JUI-F leader was fatally shot in Azam Warsak Bazaar.
