The British monarch, who serves as Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment, is welcomed with a Guard of Honour during a formal arrival ceremony. The Pipes and Drums of the 2nd Battalion provide musical accompaniment to celebrat the moment. Aspecial element of today's ceremony is the presence of the first two members of the newly revived Balmoral Highlanders, positioned outside the castle's front gate. Prince Harry and Prince William's father personally re-established the group, which had been dissolved in 1936 during the reign of his great-grandfather, George V.
