The singer is currently taking a short break from her Lily Allen Performs West End Girl tour as she will continue the tour in US next month. The shows are based completely on her latest album, which was inspired by her personal life. Lily performs the whole album from start to end. But there is one thing missing. She does not stop to talk to the audience and she does not perform her older songs. Some fans, however, have loved the idea, but others have complained that the concerts are too short and that Lily does not speak to them. The former partner of the Stranger Things actor David Harbour has now explained that this was done on purpose. The Smile singer said she feels like she is playing a character during the show and if she started chatting with the crowd, she would have to leave that character, which would affect the story she is telling. Lily also laughed at people who complain about the lack of interaction and asked them to name their five favourite audience moments from any concert. She, moreover, earlier defended the show online as well, explaining that a string orchestra performs before her and plays versions of her older songs for the audience to sing along to.
