Pakistan Army Strikes Back: 7 Terrorists Neutralized, Captain Martyred in Hangu Operation

In a daring intelligence-based operation, the Pakistan Army has eliminated seven terrorists and seized a cache of weapons in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, which was launched on August 7, resulted in the martyrdom of Captain Hamza Akram, a 27-year-old resident of Narowal district. The terrorists, who were backed by India, were involved in multiple attacks against security forces and civilians. The military's media wing, ISPR, confirmed that the operation was successful and that the area has been cleared of any remaining militants. The operation is part of the 'Azm-e-Istehkam' campaign, which aims to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism in the country. Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Mastung, three militants were neutralized and 12 suspects were detained. The operation, which was carried out as part of Rad-ul-Fitna-3, resulted in the clearing of an area spanning 68 square kilometers. The surge in terror activities in KP and Balochistan provinces has been a major concern for the government, with the two provinces accounting for nearly 96% of all violence-related fatalities in the second quarter of 2026.
