The contract highlights Pakistan's desire to revive defense cooperation mechanisms that existed during the Afghanistan war and to promote its counterterrorism efforts. The lobbying firm will also focus on promoting US investment in Pakistan's minerals sector, particularly in the southwestern province of Balochistan, which is home to significant copper and gold reserves.
