Revolutionizing Space Travel: India's First Private Rocket Vikram-1 Soars to New Heights

In a groundbreaking achievement, Skyroot Aerospace, an Indian private rocket company, has successfully launched its first orbital rocket, Vikram-1, from the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) launch facility in Sriharikota. This milestone marks India's entry into the exclusive club of countries with private companies capable of orbital launches, joining the likes of the US and China. The seven-storey rocket, named after Vikram Sarabhai, the father of India's space program, reached the Low Earth Orbit in a mere 16-minute flight, carrying six payloads, including a diamond lotus and a robotic arm for removing space debris. Skyroot's innovative approach aims to provide a 'cab service to space,' enabling companies to launch satellites into unique orbits, thereby reducing the long waiting periods for satellite launches.
