In a bizarre incident, Brazilian soccer player Jacy Maranhao's goal celebration ended in an unfortunate mishap. The 29-year-old centre-back suffered an ankle injury in the process, which was later diagnosed after he managed to climb out of the passageway. Despite the initial excitement of scoring, Maranhao's goal was disallowed following a VAR review, adding to his disappointment. The incident occurred at the Couto Pereira Stadium in Curitiba, where a similar incident had taken place in 2014 involving Cameroon striker Joel. Maranhao's team, Coritiba, went on to win the match 2-1, but the player was substituted shortly after half-time due to his injury.
