Pakistani-American Leader Muhammad Saeed Sheikh Honored with Prestigious Award and 'Day' in Houston

In a heartwarming ceremony, Houston Mayor John Whitmire lauded the tireless efforts of Pakistani-American community leader Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, who was recently bestowed with Pakistan's esteemed Sitara-e-Khidmat award. This honor, one of the country's highest civilian recognitions, acknowledges Sheikh's decades-long dedication to humanitarian work and community service. The event, co-hosted by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston and the Houston Karachi Sister City Association, drew together prominent members of the Pakistani-American community, business leaders, and civic representatives to celebrate Sheikh's remarkable contributions. Mayor Whitmire expressed his intention to visit Pakistan during his second term to foster stronger ties between the United States and Pakistan. The mayor also presented Sheikh with an official proclamation declaring July 21, 2026, as 'Muhammad Saeed Sheikh Day' in Houston, commemorating his enduring commitment to public service and community development. Sheikh humbly accepted the recognition, attributing the honor to the collective efforts of his community and supporters, including notable Pakistani-American businessman Syed Javed Anwar.
