Tragedy in ICE Custody: The Untold Story of Edwin Lopez Cornejo's Fatal Detention

A devastating incident has shaken the nation, as a detainee at Delaney Hall in New Jersey lost his life while in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The victim, identified as Edwin Jovanny Lopez Cornejo, a 20-year resident of New Jersey, was an immigrant from El Salvador who had been living in the United States since 2006. Following his arrest by ICE agents in Plainfield, New Jersey, on June 18, Cornejo was transferred to the Delaney Hall detention facility, where he was awaiting deportation.
